Sweet Mosaic Vanity

I love this one! Found this old vanity at the flea market and she looked so pathetic that I had to take her home. Someone had painted her a nasty dark brown and cut off the kidney shaped sides. I brought her back to life with lots of white paint, vintage china, & stained glass. Even did the drawer and added a glass knob! The finishing touch was the pearls across the front and the sweet green cameos on either side. She's beautiful!

Mosaic Console Table

Finished this one up shortly after the end table.....it is such a cute table! I love the 2 level top on it and it was perfect for mosaic embellishment. Painted the same green as the end table and the 2 would look so sweet in a room together.

Mosaic End Table

I'm sooooo bad that I never came back with the completed pic! The table came out just darling with all it's pinks & greens & roses! It's in the booth and waiting for it's new home!

Work in Progress.......

Since the adorable little pink mosaic end table sold this week and is on it's way to it's new home in Colorado, I figured I'd best get busy on another end table for the booth. Color is a little dark on this pic but it is a darling shade of celery green just loaded with vintage rose china focals and stained glass. Grout first thing tomorrow!

Classic Blue & White - so serene......

Petite, Victorian style console table - painted in a linen white with china mosaic from Spode Blue Room, Sebring Toledo Delight, Hall Cameo Rose & don't miss the pale blue & white Haviland Rosamonde. My Mom gave me this set of china. And no, I didn't break her vintage plates! Bought the centers from my favorite china plate cutter :)

I love the way the tiny, navy blue tiles create a stark contrast for the soft blues. Also added a touch of aqua stained glass around some of the edges. Finished her off with an iridescent pearl trim to add that feminine touch!

A Closer look.....

Some work in progress....please check back!

Sunday, November 30, 2008

SOLD!!!

Such a cutie! I think this is one of my favorite pieces. This was once a secretary with a pull down desk top. The top was too badly battered to save so it was removed and a back was added to turn it into a book or display case. Painted pink and mosaic-ed across the top with vintage Spode, Mildred, and various other bits of old china. She's ready for a new life - won't you take her home?
SOLD!

A closer view - love this bookcase!

This little cutie belonged to my Great Aunt Lucy. I remember being a very little girl (well over 40 years ago!) and seeing it in her tiny apartment in Fall River, MA. My brother and I would sit at it and eat tuna sandwiches while we watched "Gilligan's Island". I had been carting it from house to house, attic to attic before I gave her a makeover! Painted white and applied a mosaic pattern under the glass top with stained glass, a Sebring focal and bits of vintage Mildred china.
This was one of my first efforts and I love this little table; so dainty & petite! This one is sentimental and so sorry, but not for sale!

SOLD!

A lovely vintage 2 tier table painted white and embellished with china from Paden City & Aichi. Loads of pink and white stained glass enhance the dainty and feminine feel of this special piece.
